OLD HAT – Old Hat is a composition by guitarist Steve Kovalcheck, arranged for large ensemble by David Caffey. It’s an extended Bb Blues with a wonderful swing and shuffle groove that features guitar, tenor saxophone, and drums. The use of marimba and xylophone are beautiful additions to the color of the sound on the “hook.” No worries though, it still works without the keyboard percussion. Appears on the DCJO CD, AT THE EDGE OF SPRING
