DIRECT CURRENT – A sophisticated procession through medium Latin/rock, half-time rock, and double-time samba feels, this chart was written for the Cal State L.A. Jazz Ensemble for a premier at an IAJE International Conference. This is a new contemporary sounding version of the tune that features guitar in an extended solo. It has been moved to a new key that makes the piece more accessible for the brass section and the guitar soloist.
